Starting level

Hi, I have just joined as my son uses this site at his Special Needs school, but as I have entered his date of birth, I assume the level of games, work etc will be tailored to this age? Is there a way of starting him on a lower level (as he is unable to answer questions for his age range) and then moving up as he is able to answer the questions? Thanks.

Starting Level

Hi, I have just joined and thought it would be good as my son struggles with Maths. But it seems the site is tailored to his age rather than his ability. Can I adjust the ease of the maths questions he is getting? Currently he is unable to answer anything!?

Thanks

Hi, there is a part under the parents bit, where you can change the level. I had the same problem you had. You can change the year. My son is year 2, but i changed him to foundation stage. He is now able to answer questions, and is really enjoying this site.

Hi Mahoney 7 and Knowles 2

Pilgrim 6 is right. Log in as normal, on the upper part of the home page select the 'Parents' option. Then select the 'Subscription' tab, enter your password, and click on the 'Change Academic levels' option from the left menu.

Follow the on-screen guide to change your child's levels. It will take you through each child on the account and each subject they have access to. Make all changes to all the subjects required, then click 'Save'.

Return to the main page and click to log out. Then log back in to see the new level range.

If you're still having problems, please give us a call on 0844 225 3060.

resouces for deaf children

i was excited the first time i saw your website because it's so visual and child-friendly. Unfortunately, my son is not able to access information as he is deaf. i rthink if there is a BSL icon this resource will be very helpful as it is already visual. Our deacf children will be proud to identfy with your website!

Resource for deaf children

Thanks for your feedback, ofor.

I'm glad you find our resource visual and child-friendly, but sorry to hear it does not meet all of your son's needs.

We know many children with hearing difficulties do use it successfully, as many have commented how useful it is that all questions are written out as well as spoken.

Unfortunately, we only have limited resource, so looking at achieving the BSL is not something we are working on currently.

Changing levels in maths

Hi, my son has SEN. He needs to move up a level in maths only, because he needs more subtraction. But he still needs some of the stuff in his current level. Is there an overlap between levels? If you move from reception to level one, is there a way of going back over reception stuff to reinforce? Thanks

Maths

Hi case 8,

Unfortunately there is no overlap between the levels, so you would have to do the games at your son's current level, then move up a level.

You can move between the levels, but you will use your 3 free level changes quite quickly.

Hi everyone, is there an app from EC planned for the ipad? My son with SEN has just started to use the ipad, not many apps out there as good as EC!
