In every Activity, content is made as clear to understand as possible, with visual and audible reinforcements for every answer. It is the combination of large text, clear voice-over, colourful graphics, and fun music that makes EducationCity’s mathematics content appeal to all learners.
When a student answers a question incorrectly, not only is the correct answer shown, but an explanation as to how the answer is worked out is also often provided. Foreign Languages +
The goal in the Key Stage 1 French and Spanish Activities is to create curiosity and excitement about a foreign language. Students will become aware of the sounds of the new language, and realise that they are different from the sounds of their mother tongue, and that, despite the difference in sounds, the foreign language holds meaning in exactly the way that their mother tongue does. Eventually, they will embrace the possibility of understanding and speaking the language themselves.
This awareness will be achieved through singing along with nursery rhymes in the target language. All Activity songs can be sung karaoke-style (with text, audio toggle on/off). Once basic awareness has been achieved, a very basic vocabulary can be introduced by using a few targeted words. Ultimately, the link between the word and its meaning should be reinforced with the use of the Activities, Activity Sheets, provided Lesson Ideas and Teacher Notes.
EducationCity’s Key Stage 1 Computing module will help students gain a good grasp of the computing skills they will need in the 21st century as well as their future lives and careers and critically, will also help teachers deliver all aspects of computing in the classroom, from Computer Science, including Coding, to Information Technology and Digital Literacy.
With Learn Screens, Activities, Topic Tools, follow-up Activity Sheets, our highly acclaimed Code Crunch Student Tool and ThinkIts to support them, students will be organising and manipulating digital content, developing their own algorithms to create programs and understanding how they should behave in the digital world.
What’s more, EducationCity is able to support teachers through the steep initial learning curve of teaching coding too as it provides Lesson Ideas and Teacher Notes that teachers can tap into, no matter what their level of experience is with the subject.
Mapped to National Curriculum learning objectives, EducationCity’s content is an engaging and rewarding way to learn Key Stage 1 computing concepts.
