Recycling Lesson Plan

Each year Recycle Week is held to both encourage and remind us all to recycle waste wherever possible. The aim of the event is to encourage people to join together with the local community to tidy up their area and recycle as much as they can.

Recycling Project Pack

EducationCity.com has some really useful ideas to persuade and promote recycling in a handy project pack. It includes:

Recycling - Lesson Plan

Pupils have the opportunity to complete a ‘mini project’ on recycling with the aim of presenting their findings to the school through a class assembly. It contains activity suggestions that will demonstrate to other pupils how important recycling is and the impact it has on our daily lives including:

  • Facts and figures on recycling
  • The history of recycling
  • Materials that we can recycle
  • The process of recycling, e.g. glass
  • Making paper (the lesson plan on making paper in science week could be used here)
  • Using recycled materials for designing and making, e.g. jewellery or art

Recycle Week –  Factsheet

Facts about Recycle Week from why it happens to what you can do to celebrate and how to promote it!
