Fundraising Ideas for Sport Relief

Sport Relief is a charity event from Comic Relief, which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people, across the UK and the world, to live happier and safer lives.

Since the last Sport Relief in 2016, your donations have helped over 3.4 million people in Africa through maternal and child health funding, and supported more than 50,000 people in the UK living with a mental health problem.

Is your school fundraising for Sport Relief? Take a look at some of our awesome fundraising ideas below…

Dress Up Sponsored Run

Dress up events are great for getting all students involved and raising lots of money for charity. Why not combine dress up and a sponsored run to make it more challenging and fun?

Students could come dressed up as their favourite animal, favourite princess, a spaceman, or even wear their pyjamas, the choice is endless!

A sponsored run doesn’t cost anything to organise, and it can be held as a group event. All your students will need to do is find sponsors for their run – brilliant!

Penalty Challenge

To create your very own penalty challenge, all you’ll need is some makeshift goal posts (unless you have some in the playground!), and get yourself a goalie. To raise money, you could ask people to pay £1 to have a go at scoring a goal.

If someone scores five goals or more, maybe you could even offer a prize. Perhaps this could be one of the achievement certificates you can find in the Sport Relief resource pack?

Sport Relief Bake Off

Not feeling too sporty? Not to worry! One of the most popular fundraising events is a bake sale, as they are easy to organise, set up and run. You could hold a bake sale in your school and get your students selling their yummy cakes!

You can order your own Sport Relief fundraising pack from their website.  They have some fantastic posters, stickers, balloons and much more – fab to help promote any Sport Relief fundraising event!

Well, that’s all from us – we wish you the best of luck with your fundraising!
