Last Minute Prep: 11 Handy Resources to Help Students Gain Confidence for Maths SATs

So the SATs are on their way now… with this, we thought we’d step in and help you out with supporting your students in gaining confidence for their Maths SATs...

So the SATs are on their way now… with this, we thought we’d step in and help you out with supporting your students in gaining confidence for their Maths SATs Test.

With the help of our Education Team, we’ve selected a set of 11 Upper Key Stage 2 Maths Activities for Year 6 students that are aimed at getting them prepared for the sorts of questions they’re likely to be asked. Each Activity deals with an important mathematical concept that’s important for the upcoming tests such as number, measure and geometry, so they’re great for revising with.

How the Activities Can Help Your Year 6’s SATs Revision…

Take a look at the Activities… remember to log in and check them out…

Captain Cod – Use decimal notation and place value.

Dancing Robot – Rapid recall of number facts and use known facts to derive unknown facts.

Puppy in the Window – Build and answer division problems.

Juice Bar – Record and solve worded problems algebraically.

Atlantic Pirates – Calculate angles in a circle and in a straight line.

Massive Measures – Converting between standard units of mass and capacity.

Arcade Champion – Order and compare numbers up to 1,000,000 by recognising the value of each digit.

Football Football – Draw where a shape will be after it has been reflected in a vertical or horizontal mirror line.

High Rise – Calculate the perimeter and area of shapes made from rectangles.

Pigeon Race – Find fractions and percentages of numbers.

Monster Mash – Position decimals with up to three places on a number line.

Many Activities come with peripheral content in the form of Learn Screens, Lesson Ideas, Teacher Notes, Activity Sheets and Activity Sheet Answers – don’t forget to take a peek at these too for even more practice!
