National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center first launched the campaign in 2006 as a one-week event. In 2010, it was expanded to a month-long effort to raise awareness of bullying prevention.

As educators, it is important to help students understand what bullying is, how to prevent it, and how to respond to it if it does happen. Our posters and Fact Sheets are excellent resources to use as classroom conversation starters.

Because we know that bullying can happen in virtual environments as well as in physical ones, this month’s ThinkIts focus on cyberbullying and how students can respond if they encounter hostile behavior online.

Print out these resources and let your students know that the end of bullying begins with them!
