Fun Games to Get Your Students Outside This Summer

Children love spending time outdoors with the family and summer present a great opportunity to do things you wouldn’t normally get a chance to do.

We’ve had a little browse and found some great activities that will get them exploring nature and having plenty of adventures.

Let’s delve right in!

Camping Trip

A camping experience can be such fun and can take place away from home or even in their back garden. To encourage a fun experience, and prepare them for their awesome camping trip, have them plan an agenda and a list of things they’ll need whilst outside.

With this, you can link it to our understanding of the world section in our science games.

Observe Wildlife

Even in urban areas, wildlife is everywhere. There are many books that can be found that identify birds and animals. Challenge students to try to find as many species as they can in their area.

They could head outside with some binoculars and do some bird watching or see how many creepy crawlies they can find. Maybe even ask them to sketch and describe what they see and bring their findings after the holidays.

Fruit Picking

Another fun idea could be fruit picking. Strawberry farms are brilliant and another great way to get children outdoors and in the fresh air. It’s a great way to teach children about seasonal food and it’s healthy too!
