Lessons that involve books and talk teaching are great, but what happens when you add engaging practical activities like games into the mix?

Active learning that involves games has loads of benefits for students’ learning; for instance, they may help students with their motivation because they enjoy playing them, and they may help to develop a positive attitude towards a subject whilst also attracting different learning styles.

On EducationCity, there are a number of maths games that can help the learning of mathematical concepts.

Let’s explore some!

PlayLive Maths

PlayLive Maths is a competitive mental mathematics challenge where students can take on their class, school or even country. It pits students from the same year group in a race to answer as many questions as they can in 60 seconds. It’s a huge lot of fun and students can choose between questions on multiplication, addition, subtraction and division – perfect for practising fundamental maths skills. Go ahead and race your snails in PlayLive Maths.

Times Tables Bundle

In our Times Tables Bundle, we have Times Tables Songs and Challenges. With the Times Tables Songs, multiplication is brought to life. Children can sing along to the fun, enjoyable Times Tables Songs and then move on to answer questions on the times table they selected, practising the skills they’ve learnt.Maths Activity

What’s more, we’ve also a number of engaging, fun individual challenges for every times table from the 2 x to the 12 x table. These deal with division or multiplication, or even division and multiplication for children to get stuck into – perfect for learning these important mathematical facts.
