Have You Covered Black History Month Yet?

Black History Month 2015 officially comes to an end a week on Saturday, so there’s still time to cover this very important theme in your classrooms to promote tolerance, racial diversity and working together for a brighter, more inclusive, future.

What’s more, we have some great resources to help you do just that, including Fact Sheets, Lesson Plans and ThinkIts.

They’re perfect for introducing the theme to a class and cover a whole range of topics, such as the awful conditions people faced on slave ships, why Rosa Parks wouldn’t give up her bus seat and Martin Luther King’s famous speech.

We also look at Martin Luther King’s personal story and the history of the Civil Rights cause so students can see the progress that has been made.

Our Black History Month Toolkit can be accessed here.
