There’s Not Long Left to Enter the 500 Words Competition

Have you heard about the 500 Words competition before?

Well, it all started back in 2011, when presenter, Chris Evans, had a dream to get children excited about reading and writing. Since starting, 500 Words is now one of the most successful story writing competitions, with nearly 13,200 entries entered last year!

To enter, students (aged between 5-13 years) should write an original story on a subject or theme of their choice, in 500 words or fewer, and submit their entry online.

To find out more and read about the prizes the winners will receive, take a look at the BBC Radio 2’s website.

The deadline for entries is Thursday 22nd February at 7pm, so be sure to get your students’ work submitted whilst there’s still time.
