Commemorating Remembrance Day

This Friday, 11th November, is Remembrance Day.

Each year countries from across the world remember those who have died at war with a 2 minute silence at 11am on the 11th November.

The tradition remembers the end of World War I on the 11th of November 1918; the eleventh hour, of the 11th day, of the eleventh month.

Since then the tradition has been upheld and is now used to remember those who have died not only in World War I, but also those who have died at war since.
