Congratulations… Literacy competition winners announced!

On behalf of all the staff here at EducationCity.com we would like to offer our congratulations to Rhys and George from St. Edmond’s Catholic School in Whitton for winning our literacy competition.Lost then Found story cover

We challenged pupils across the UK to write a short story/creative writing piece on any topic, involving the EducationCity.com characters in 400 words, from which we received nearly 50 entries!

It was very difficult choosing a winner with the quality of writing and creativity being such a high standard; however, one entry contained just the right mix of storytelling ingredients and sparkle to make it stand out above the rest.

Rhys and George wrote the story The Lost Then Found. We loved how they used the EducationCity.com characters and transported them into a fairytale world. It really had us holding our breath and we think that there is definitely scope for a sequel!

Lost then FoundDean Smith, our Literacy Producer, commented:

The Lost Then Found was my winner, I thought that it was really original, and showed a vivid and unique imagination!”

Rhys and George have now had their creative writing transformed by our super team of artists. They have designed a suitably magical front cover for the story that we think helps tell the tale just perfectly.

From reading the entries we think that there are lots of authors in the making. Please keep up the great work!
