EducationCity’s Endurance Challenge 2014

The Time: 22nd June, 2014

The Place: Rutland Water, Oakham

The Aim: To raise money for Anna’s Hope, EducationCity’s official charity, which supports children with brain tumours

The team at EducationCity love a challenge, so we could think of no better way than to raise money for a great cause whilst testing our physical exertion to its limits. The Endurance Challenge will be EducationCity’s major fundraiser for Anna’s Hope in 2014 and we will be pulling out all the stops to raise as much as we can in sponsorship. The aim is for our team to complete the circuit around Rutland Water twenty times, that’s 500 miles! Our financial target is to raise a minimum of £500, which is just one pound for every mile.

So far we’ve recruited a 32-strong team, made up of employees, family and friends, to support this most worthy of causes. Some have undertaken to complete the whole 25 mile circuit by cycle, while others have opted for shorter distances but whether cycling, running or walking, they’ll all be giving 100%. Our favourite so far has to go to our trooper Mr Alan Palmer, who will be walking all 25 miles in full military attire!

Closer to the time, we’ll be profiling some of the team taking part and the events they have chosen for the challenge, so look out for those. Our justgiving page (http://www.justgiving.com/EducationCity-Com) is now live so feel free to donate and if you are in the Rutland Water area on the day, feel free to pop by to offer moral support too.

Go, Team EducationCity, Go!
