As part of our Focus On… series, today, we’re going to be focussing on another tip top, time-saving teacher tool, and it goes by the name of MyCity!
What’s a MyCity?

A MyCity is an area where you can quickly group content in one place and assign it to students to access in class (Classwork), or at home (Homework) providing your school subscribes to Home Access*.
Administrator and Teacher users can create a MyCity via Manage MyCity which is at the left-hand side of the homepage or on the drop down menu at the top.
Why MyCity is a fantastic teacher aid…
- Great for 1:1 Help: you can set a MyCity for a student who may require extra support.
- Makes differentiated learning easy-peasy: need to differentiate work? Look no further! With MyCity, you can set work for groups of students so they can focus on different work depending on their abilities.
- Helps you manage your students’ learning: helping you make sure students are accessing what you set, use a MyCity to direct them to the work you’d like them to do – you can even set a MyCity to ‘Sequenced’ to put content in an order that helps you control the flow of learning.
Don’t forget to use the Tracking tab!
MyCity’s recently had an upgrade with the addition of the Tracking tab which lets you track students’ progress within a MyCity by showing what’s been completed, what’s in progress and what’s not yet started. Just go into a MyCity to take a look at it now, or, click here to find out more!
