Guest Blog from the Product Team

At the beginning of March, the Product Team took a trip to Coventry to visit Broad Heath Primary School. We met Theo, their ICT Technician at the Bett show in January; Theo was keen for us to visit the school and show them V2 in more detail.

We started off by showing V2 to a group of 15 students which spanned Year 1 to Year 6. They were really excited using the activities, and it was fascinating to see V2 being used by such a variety of ages at one time. The times tables songs, in particular, were a huge hit and they were bowled over by V2, in terms of its visual appeal. The brand new platform made it easy for all ages to move around the site and find different features.

After the bell, we presented V2 to the teachers during their staff meeting. Even though the teachers had never seen V2 before, they were able to navigate their way around the resource with very little direction from us. They found it really easy to use and it was clear that the ThinkIts were very popular.

There was a huge amount of excitement regarding the switchover and even revived enthusiasm for the current resource, as some of the teachers found features that they didn’t realise were already available on the current version of EducationCity.

All in all, it was a really worthwhile visit. Many thanks to the students and teachers for making us so welcome and giving us lots of ideas and feedback.
