National Storytelling Week 2012

We’re so excited about this year’s annual National Storytelling Week! Founded by the Society of Storytelling 12 years ago, their aim for this week is to celebrate the art of traditional storytelling.

To mark this week, we will be igniting those literacy sparks by recommending a different literacy activity or Topic Tool each day.

Today’s featured Topic Tool

Today’s storytelling recommendation is the Topic Tool Storyscape! Use it with your class to explore the shape and components of a story plot with an interactive plot line!  

Storyscape is available in:

• England: Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
• Scotland: First ** , First *** and Second *
• Wales: Years 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7
• Northern Ireland: P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7

Storytelling is more than a fun way to engage with those in your classroom and we hope you enjoy this week just as much as we will!
