National Storytelling Week Challenge: Literacy PlayLive

As it is National Storytelling Week, we are loving all things Literacy in the EducationCity.com office! So much so, that we have a challenge for those in your classroom this week! For all those Literacy PlayLive experts now is your chance to shine, as we are challenging your class to get high scores then send us a screenshot of the scores to marketing@EducationCity.com. We will then offer a prize to the class which scores the highest! It’s as easy as that!

Featured Activity of the Day

Today our featured activity is “Sten's Comic Book Maker“, where students in your classroom can create their own comic stories! In this activity, Sten stumbles into a Comic Book shop and gets to create his very own work of art. Pupils can use a range of frame templates, backgrounds, objects and text holders to make a comic which they can print and save into SuccessTracker.

The activity has accompanying teacher notes, a lesson plan and worksheet. Also, the learn area goes over the different elements of a comic-based story (chapters include 'An Introduction to Comics', 'Mapping out the Story', 'Settings', 'Characters' and 'Text').

This is available in the following years and regions:

  • England: Year 6
  • Scotland: Second *
  • Wales: Year 6
  • Northern Ireland: P6

Have a go and see if you can get those literacy sparks ignited in your classroom!

We would love to read some of these comics. Feel free to send them to us or post below!
