Roald Dahl’s The Witches Book Review

As we are celebrating a whole month of Roald Dahl, the staff in the office at EducationCity.com have been reading their favourite Dahl books! Our Customer Services team here went even further and wrote their own review of The Witches:

“Once upon a time, there was a Customer Service team at EducationCity.com. One sunny afternoon they all gathered together and read a book called The Witches by Roald Dahl; this is what they thought.

In the story a boy was turned into a mouse by a witch and while reading I couldn’t stop hoping and wondering when he’s going to turn back to a human but this was not the case. This is not your ordinary happy ending fairy tale story. Sadly, the boy stayed as a mouse forever.

Roald Dahl Book ReviewWhat is special is the bond between this boy and his big-hearted, kind grandmother who keeps on loving him, taking good care of him, and accepting him even though he is a mouse. The boy also has an optimistic character, “It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like, so long as somebody loves you.” This book teaches children to be hopeful, creative, and optimistic.

I know that Roald Dahl wrote children’s books and I would’ve enjoyed it when I was younger, but I can speak for all of the Customer Service ladies when I say this was quite a fun read after all. It is a curious, satisfying sort of tale but an honest one, with well-paced adventures. It was very funny but I would be lying if I didn’t say a little scary as well!

Here at Customer Services we think that the children would love to draw out their own witch with square toes, clawed fingers and eyes that change colour, just like in the book!

And the Customer Service Team lived happily ever after at EducationCity.com…”

Every year we celebrate Roald Dahl Day where we celebrate his literacy achievements and hope to educate people on his work. Find out more.
