Three Super Fun Easter Craft Ideas

We’ve been on the hunt for some Easter-inspired craft ideas and we think you’ll like some of the projects we’ve found!

Students may need adult supervision during some stages of the craft ideas.

Egg Carton Spring ChicksEaster Crafts

This idea is a fun way to reuse something old to make something new, and we think students will love these, as the chicks are super cute!

What you’ll need:

  • Cardboard egg cartons
  • Acrylic coloured paints and brush
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Marker pen
  • Orange piece of A5/A4 card
  • Small coloured feathers

Method

  1. First, cut apart two egg holders from the carton and trim off the excess cardboard around each.
  2. Then glue both pieces together (you may need to trim some extra off after trying to fit them together, before gluing) and wait for these to dry.
  3. Once they are dry, it’s time to paint! Your students may want to go for yellow, maybe pink, or even green – the choices are endless!
  4. Leave to dry and in the meantime, fold a piece of orange card and cut a small triangle shape out of the folded edge for the beak.
  5. Glue this on so the folded edge of the card is stuck on the box.
  6. Draw on some dots for the chick’s eyes and finally, use the scissors to pierce a small hole in the top of the carton and pop a small coloured feather in – perfect!

Rabbit MasksEaster Crafts

We think these rabbit masks are perfect for Easter!

What you’ll need:

  • White A4 card
  • Pink paper
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Hole punch
  • Scalpel and craft cutting board (preferable)
  • Ribbon (any colour)

Method

  1. First, you’ll need to draw an outline of a rabbit mask onto a piece of white card (we’d suggest downloading a template for this – take a look at this one). Once you have the template on some card, cut out the mask (including the eye holes). You may want to do this using a scalpel and craft board, or scissors – we’ll leave that one for you to decide.
  2. Take the pink paper and draw the inside of the rabbit ears and cut these out and glue in place (if you already have a template, this may show the lines of the inside of the rabbit ears, so simply follow that shape).
  3. You’ll then need to punch holes in either side of the mask and thread the ribbon through and tie knots at the end to secure in place.

All finished!

Fabric Egg SuncatchersEaster Crafts

These suncatchers are perfect for displaying around the classroom during the Easter period!

What you’ll need:

Method

  1. Use the liquid watercolours to paint different patterns and designs onto the white fabric. Then allow time for the fabric to dry.
  2. Take the egg shape template and trace around it onto the coloured fabric. Then cut out the fabric eggs.
  3. Cut out an egg-shaped frame from the card (you can use the egg shape template to trace around).
  4. Glue the frame onto the fabric egg and trim off any excess fabric sticking out from the edge of the frame.

All done! You can attach string or even Blu Tack them to windows to catch the sun.
