WWF Earth Hour

EducationCity.com are supporting WWF Earth Hour which occurs on 31st March 2012.

Earth Hour is the world’s largest voluntary action for the environment and encourages people to save energy around the home to not only save money but to help reduce our impact on the environment.

This day happens across the world from London to Sydney, New York to Singapore, and people will be switching off their lights for one hour in order to tackle climate change and protect the natural world. Many famous landmarks such as The Houses of Parliament in London and Stormont in Belfast are switching their lights off for this day.

WWF are encouraging schools and youth groups to support the event and have produced a range of FREE resources to be used in the classroom to further highlight this day.

Remember to switch off your lights at 8.30pm on Saturday March 31st for one hour!
